OpenAkiya is a property directory and information connector operated by Snapscribe Ltd (Cyprus). We aggregate publicly available property listings from Japanese municipal akiya banks and present them in a translated, searchable format for international audiences. We do not sell, buy, lease, manage, or broker any property. We are not a real estate agency. We simply connect interested individuals with publicly available information and official sources.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication data through our third-party authentication provider (Clerk).
• Inquiry Form Data: When you submit an inquiry about a property, we collect your name, email address, phone number, country, message, migration consultation preference, and preferred viewing dates.
• Payment Information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.
• Usage Data: We may collect basic analytics such as pages visited, properties viewed, and saved listings to improve our service.
• Language Preference: We store your language preference (English/Spanish) locally in your browser.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide access to our property directory and member features
• Process your property inquiries and forward them to relevant contacts
• Process payments for membership access
• Send you updates about properties you have saved or inquired about
• Improve and maintain our service

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud services. Some data, such as saved properties and inquiry submissions, may be stored locally in your browser (localStorage) for performance and convenience. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly submitted via a form.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Clerk — Authentication and user management
• Stripe — Payment processing
• SQLite — Self-hosted database (data stays on our servers, no third-party database service)
• OpenStreetMap — Map embeds (no personal data shared)

We use minimal cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Your language preference is stored via localStorage, not cookies.
